Minimum Requirements for a Machinist Internship

Completion of at least 2 semesters with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in an accredited college certificate program in Machine Technology

At least 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent

Pass pre-employment physical exam, drug screen, and background check

Valid Driver’s License

Must possess a valid TWIC card

Must possess a valid BATC card

Physical/outdoor work, including climbing

Self motivated to work independently and be able to work with team members

Basic computer skills including working in windows based computer system

It is that time of year again and I need to set up our Machinist internship. The internship will be 10 weeks and attached is the flyer.

Refinery tour – Tentative March 21st.

Applications – Will be posted on www.shell.com/jobs . Posting will be live March 1^st. We will be following up with a separate note with an attached link and information about applying at that time.

Internship – June 3^rd through August 8^th.

Please start informing the students, and get me a count of who is interested to come on the tour. We have hired 10 past interns, and we are looking for more. This is a great opportunity for the students, so please be sure they start applying when the posting opens and come enjoy the tour.

This year we will be taking 4 interns and looking forward to some great candidates for the internship.

Last year we didn’t have very many Applications so we couldn’t fill 4 slots. Please encourage your students to apply. We have been hiring 1 to 2 out of each internship and we need to continue this.
