Here’s the job description:
 
 
Welders (Entry Level)
Bay Ship & Yacht, on the water where San Francisco Bay meets the Oakland Estuary,  is actively seeking dependable candidates who aspire to a career in welding.    The ideal candidate has graduated from one of the local community college's Welding Schools, or has learned the trade in one of the many Trade Schools.   The selected candidates will be training for at least three months, and in that time they will be performing Fire Watch, hauling, grinding, and welding.  These students will be trained by some of the Bay Area's finest Marine Welders.  If you have some welding experience, as well as a desire to build or continue your career through training,, there's a good chance that this position is the right fit for you! 
 
Qualified Candidates for this Position Possess:
  • Welding classes from a local college or trade school and some welding  experience  (within the Marine industry is desired…but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills with the welders and safety teams.
  • Ability to remain alert and vigilant
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move equipment
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work overtime as requested
 Skills Testing—Candidates must attend and pass the site specific safety training.   
 
Work Environment—Welders are production workers who will be working in an indoor/outdoor industrial environment where work is performed at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and they may be subjected to loud noises and fluctuating or extreme weather conditions.
