We are seeking a CNC Shop Tech to join the FATHOM Oakland Headquarters. This opportunity will allow you to assist prototype machinists in our state of the art production facility. Someone who is excited to explore new solutions while managing machine upkeep and assist with machine operation and other duties as needed to provide additional efficiency and throughput will be the right person for this role.

Responsibilities //

• Sets up and operates Haas CNC Mills and Lathes with verbal and written instruction.
• Build/Kit tools and materials.
• Drive internal CNC preventative maintenance and daily upkeep.
• Deburr, hand finish, and clean product prior to customer shipment.
• Verify part geometries using hand metrology tools.
• Manage multiple concurrent machining jobs with set timelines
• Work within all standard shop safety and regulations

Required Skills //

• 2+ years of machining experience with good understanding of G-code
• Experience using HAAS control
• Knowledge of various materials and CNC tooling
• Knowledge of CNC preventive maintenance requirements
• Experience with deburring tools and hand finish techniques
• Ability to work independently and with a team environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

Bonus Skills //

• CMM experience
• 5+ years of machining experience
• Experience programming tool paths, both 2.5D and 3D surfacing
• Clean driving record
• Fluent in SolidWorks, Fusion 36, and HSMworks (or equivalent CAD/CAM software)
• Experience with injection mold processes and tooling
