Millwright: 
Overview
Works under the direction of Maintenance Supervisor to make sure equipment in their assigned area is kept in top running condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing maintenance services through the refinery.
  • Performs mechanical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services, including; troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, rigging, metal fabrication and repairs (welding/burning), pipe installation and repairs, and building crafts work.
  • Perform cleaning and lubrication on mechanical equipment.
  • Work with other refinery maintenance and operations personnel to handle normal everyday problems.
  • Will be assigned to one of the maintenance groups, which include: refinery maintenance, warehouse, pipe/metal, building crafts, garage and raw sugar maintenance.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis
  • Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.

Packaging Laborer:
Overview
The Packaging Laborer may be assigned to a variety of packing, cleaning or reprocessing positions. The Packaging Laborer may be assigned to any station or location in the Packaging Department. This is an entry level position requiring continuous heavy labor activities. Assignments may include repetitive hand, arm, and body movements.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Position performs necessary function required to package, seal and convey sugar packages and various packing station producing product in weights from 1 to 2000 pounds.
  • Station tasks could include check weighing, cutting-in of damage packages, station cleaning, sorting and stacking of station materials and packaging containers, lifting packaged materials weighing 24 to 50 pounds for hand palletizing and check weighing and other tasks as assigned.
  • Operates industrial hand truck to transport palletized materials.
Job Requirements
  • Rotating shifts, day, swing, and graveyard, on a bi-weekly basis is required. Overtime is required on a daily and weekly basis as scheduled.
  • Positions require standing and walking 6-8+ hours per day, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to grasp, push, and pull.
  • Position is required to wear PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection and hard hat.
  • Packaging stations are noisy (hearing protection is required) and conditions associated with a food packing environment. Packaging Laborer is exposed to refined sugar and sugar dust, cleaning soaps, lubricants and work around moving equipment.

Process Laborer:
Overview
The Process Laborer may be assigned to a variety of process or cleaning positions. The Process Laborer may be assigned to any station or location in the Process Department. This is an entry level position requiring continuous heavy labor activities. Assignments may include repetitive hand, arm, and body movements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Position performs necessary function required to process sugar.
  • Job tasks could include working around hot liquors and water, working around pumps and pipes, maintain a log book.
  • Operates cherry picker, forklift, and/or pallet jack. 
Job Requirements

Power Station:
Overview
Responsible for maintaining the plant powerhouse operations including steam, water, refrigeration, compressed air, condensate water return and electric distribution in a fully operational state supporting our production requirements, at the lowest economically feasible cost.  Supervises powerhouse operators and maintenance teams
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Observes the operating conditions of C&H Power station, including the turbine generators and their auxiliary equipment, the salt water pumping station, the steam pressure reducing stations, condensate systems, electrical power distribution system and the compressed air systems.
  • Makes routine rounds of the facility to thoroughly inspect all machinery for potential malfunctions and/or failures.
  • Maintains all logs and records as required to record complete operating conditions for the power station and reports any irregularities to the proper supervision.
  • Will start-up and secure equipment under normal and emergency situations, from the DCS or the field.
  • Will perform the necessary water chemistry tests as directed, to control the quality of condensate returned to the cogeneration plant.
  • Will perform routine maintenance on facility equipment as directed, including cleaning of turbine generating condenser and changing of exciter brushes.
  • Will make adjustments to equipment as required for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the Power Station.
  • Will be required to work with limited supervision and will maintain the station in a neat orderly fashion.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
  • Within certain assignments, will be required to direct the activities of other operators.
  • Will maintain close contact and a spirit of cooperation with the staff at the Crockett Cogeneration Plant.
Job Requirements

Packaging Mechanic:
Overview
Works under the direction of Packaging Maintenance Supervisor to make sure equipment in their assigned area is maintained and runs effectively and safely to meet production expectations. Emphasis will be on quantity and quality output, while maintaining equipment in top operating condition.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for diagnosing equipment problems, checking sequences of operations and operating condition of equipment, repairing equipment, keeping spare parts available, making and using special tools, working from specifications and verbal instructions, inspecting and recommending routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform work done on equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, and regular maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate with supervision regarding equipment condition and needed repairs, progress of repairs, reasons for delays, and progress and capability of trainees.
  • Insure that finished product meets required specifications.   
Job Requirements
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis

Maintenance Planner:
Overview
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling and forecasting the maintenance functions. The Planner may also supervise maintenance employees and may cover weekend supervision for the department.

  • · Responsible for coordinating daily, weekly and monthly scheduling of maintenance plans.
  • · Achieve the set planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • · Analyzes maintenance repair specifications to determine tools, parts, and human resource requirements.

Maintenance Supervisor:
Overview:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, provides and directs overall supervision to the activities of the assigned craft personnel in the coordinating, planning, scheduling and performance of major repair work in the refinery. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining the technical expertise of the skilled trades, monitoring their skill sets and development of training plans. Must know and apply correct management, maintenance and engineering principles to maintain the sustainability and reliability of the integrated systems of people, materials and equipment. The sustainability and reliability of all of the refinery machinery and systems assures that the refinery can meet business demands. 
 
Essential Duties & Job Requirements
  • Responsible for the day to day supervision, motivation and training of the mechanical personnel within the area of assignment. 
  • Responsible for the productivity of personnel in regards to timeliness in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs. 
  • Monitor effectiveness of the current preventive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns due to failure of systems and to update inspections and frequencies to best meet the goal of 100% reliability.  
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of work to be done by either plant personnel or outside contractors and is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of the work.  
  • Maintain good labor relations, morale and discipline in shop and to initiate corrective actions when required. 
  • Support all other maintenance shops as required including successful completion of daily tasks as well as vacation relief of other maintenance foremen. 
  • Work with the storeroom personnel to ensure maintenance materials inventory is accurate and available. 
  • Ensure personnel follow all GMP and safety policies. 
  • Work with accountability group(s) to accomplish Key Results and 5S strategy. 
Education and/or Experience
  • 4 year degree or 5 years supervisory experience on a maintenance team in similar refinery or manufacturing operation required and 10 years electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial setting
  • Mechanical knowledge is required with Electrical knowledge a plus.  
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team based environment.
  • Must be familiar with NDT methods and be able to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
  • Strong computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook are required.
  • Scheduling, planning, or similar inventory and PM program is a plus but not required.
  • Some CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to Lead, Supervise, and make decisions.

Packaging Supervisor:
 
Overview
Direct sugar production operations on shift. You will direct teams of specialized union employees ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices and safe operating procedures. Meet or exceed production targets, quality standards, maintain and regulatory compliance through the supervision of hourly personnel on rotating shifts.
 
Essential Duties & Job Requirements

  • Coordinating flow of materials into and out of the production areas for distribution in accordance with production schedule.
  • Conducting safety audits and ensuring that all safety requirements are met.
  • Communicating with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspecting products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Providing guidance to workers in adjusting, repairing, and maintaining machines and equipment which fail to meet standards.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Developing, recommending, and implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Ensures all required production, quality, and safety documentation is completed and delivered in accordance with department and company requirements.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4-year Degree in Industrial/Electrical/Sciences/Technical area preferred.
