Job Description and Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair of critical process equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures on various lab equipment, to include but not limited to, shakers, incubators, centrifuges, autoclaves, freezers, glass washers and water purification systems.
  • Communicate effectively with different internal customers (scientists, engineers, and production staff) regarding equipment issues, timelines and corrective actions.
  • Respond to high priority service calls and document detailed service reports
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance activities with external vendors as required
  • Assist with managing spare parts inventory
  • Write and revise calibration and preventive maintenance Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings for new spaces and moves to share best operational practices
  • Comply with all company safety policies and attend health and safety training as required.

Qualifications/Experience

  • 6 to 8 years’ of relevant experience in electromechanical troubleshooting/repair preferably in biotech, life sciences or
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experienced in problem solving, analysis and resolution.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in G Suite, CMMS and has ability to learn new applications
  • Must be able to perform work with little to no supervision
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment while manage competing priorities 
  • Physical ability to routinely lift at least 50 pounds.
