LANEY
In honor of National Manufacturing Day, Laney College (900 Fallon St., Oakland, CA) will be providing tours of their manufacturing related training programs (machining, wood technology, welding, and carpentry).  All are welcome to visit the Laney College manufacturing training programs. This is a great opportunity for those from industry, potential students, parents, teachers, counselors, CBO's, and others to visit our shops, get a glimpse of the skills we train our students on and see the equipment used in our facilities.

If interested in becoming a student (or you work with students) you'll get a chance to learn about the great career opportunities in manufacturing and the skilled trades (we're placing graduates at anywhere from $30,000 - $70,000 per year, with benefits).

Drop by at any time between 10 am - 2 pm on Oct. 3.  Come to the machine shop (room G-100) for directions to all the shops. On-street parking is available, and Laney is right across from Lake Merritt BART.
