Hi all,
We’re having a 1-hour meeting to discuss whether there is a need for additional curriculum on batteries in the community colleges. If you work at a company that works with batteries,
and have input on this topic, please feel free to attend. Or if you know of someone at your company who might have input, please let them know.
Thanks,
Mark

While the basics of batteries are already taught in some community college programs, there might be a need for a more in-depth curriculum that can help train electronic technicians, maintenance
technicians, and others to design and work with batteries. Besides the basics of how batteries work, the curriculum could include information around how batteries are designed, tested, maintained, and recycled - as well as new battery innovations being developed,
etc.. This might be a series of modules, or possibly even a course.
Battery Curriculum Discussion (via Zoom)
- Feb 17 (Friday)
- 11 am - noon
- Register here
- Who should attend: Engineering & manufacturing companies who use batteries in their products. College faculty (electronics, electrical)
This is just an initial meeting to see if there is interest. If there is, we’ll put together a group to take the next steps.
Regards,
Mark Martin, Bay Area Community Colleges
Manuel Covarrubias, Diablo Valley College
P.S. Please forward this to others that might be interested in
attending. This is NOT to develop an EV class for automotive techs, but rather to develop curriculum that is used by design and manufacturing technicians.
