Mechanical Technician
Working on large-scale renewable energy projects.
Development of key infrastructure for renewable energy projects. Build, test, and implement systems in support of new application environments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of complex technical functions related to the fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Read and interpret sketches, prints, and etc.
Required:
• Technical diploma or associate’s degree in an electrical or mechanical field, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus an additional 2 years of relevant industrial experience e.g. aircraft, military, automotive, heavy equipment manufacturing or equivalent formal military technical training
• Experience with fabrication or machining tools
• Able to build a variety of mechanical systems with minimal direction
• Able to read and interpret CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly prints and parts lists
• Proficient with hand power tools, basic machine tools, and welding equipment
• Basic proficiency in soldering and assembling of electro-mechanical devices
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• An excellent communicator and proficient at clearly documenting work
• Experience with woodworking and model building
Desired:
• Experience using machine shop equipment such as mills and lathes
• Experience using SolidWorks
Other Information:
• May be required to work overtime as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel up to 15% domestically.
• This position requires some work out in the elements.
