Help us celebrate the Grand Opening of
Laney College’s FabLab.
Come tour the lab, meet, interact, and learn about digital fabrication from 4pm to 6pm.
The lab is located right across the hall from the Carpentry Department in G-160.
A FabLab is an interdisciplinary, student directed learning laboratory. It provides fertile ground for design, research and engineering and is the ideal environment for implementing digital fabrication and all manners of computation through the use of technology, software, and various CNC (computer numerical controlled) machines such as 3D printers, table routers, desktop mills, laser cutters, scanners and a mix of hand and power tools. The FabLab serves as a platform for learning and innovation as a place to invent, make, and play, while promoting local entrepreneurship and industry employment.
Furthermore, for all you up and coming entrepreneurs and inventors, we will be hosting a panel discussion from 6pm to 7pm focusing on starting, developing and financing your own venture. This panel discussion will allow attendees to better understand trends, success factors, and challenges and will introduce local tools and resources to support the growth of your idea or business venture from inception to development.
