This is an interesting company to be aware of. I visited last week. They are one of the top manufacturers in the world of equipment for making snack foods (such as potato chips). Cut, fry, package chips and other items. The job below doesn’t fit neatly into any of our programs, but there might be someone out there with relevant previous experience that might find this interesting.

They also hire a few machinists, welder, and QC techs although they’re not hiring at this time, but keep your eyes open.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks George.

It was good talking with you. The project below looks interesting. I always liked working on these types of open-ended research and design tasks.

I looked at the posting and since it requires someone with a BS, it doesn’t fit with the community college programs that I support. If you have any postings for 2-year technicians (mechanical, electronic), machinists, welders, industrial maintenance, QC inspectors, etc. that’s where our wheelhouse is.

We can talk more when I visit on Friday (at 10 am). Talk to you then.

Regards,

Mark

I have attached our fulltime position; however, we also have an the immediate need to work on a Frozen/Vacuum Fry French Fry snack opportunity. Our goal is to find someone who can assist with the trials described below and continue on to fill the full time position. The trials will commence on May 11th and go through until the end of June, 2015 (or possibly longer). The time requirement per day is 8 hrs.

Description of immediate project:

We will receive potatoes in 10-50 lb bags/boxes. The potatoes will need to be peeled and sized to a specific length. They will then be cut into French Fries using a mechanical hand cutting French Fry Apparatus. The cut fries will be washed in room temperature water twice and placed in a hot water bath/blancher (155 DegF) in small baskets for 15 minutes. The baskets will be removed from the hot water and placed in room temperature water for 2 minutes. The baskets with cool fries will be removed from the water allowed to drain and place on pans as individual pcs. and placed into a standing rack blast freezer. They will freeze for one hour, be removed from the freezer and be bagged in large Ziploc type bags. During this process technical data will need to be captured using scientific instrumentation, ie.   Potato Solids, Glucose levels, weight of each bag, etc. This data will need to collected on a spreadsheet for analysis at a later date. Also required will be safe and hygienic food practices along with cleaning of the work area at the end of each day and as required during the day.
