TITLEManufacturing Technician
COMPANY NAMEOther Machine Company
COMPANY OVERVIEWOther Machine Co. is a San Francisco-based hardware & software startup in the heart of the Mission District. We care about widespread access to digital design and desktop computer-controlled manufacturing tools. We believe that hardware should be robust, software experiences should be seamless, and community is the foundation for meaningful customer relationships. We love cooking, climbing, music, interactive art, tasty beverages, and creating physical artifacts. We think passion and fun facilitate good work. We offer an inspiring work environment in an old pipe organ factory in the Mission, with plenty of fun toys (high-power laser cutter, 5-axis mill, waterjet, etc).
JOB INFORMATION

Job Responsibilities

Your days will be filled with all things manufacturing and quality control. We have a fully outfitted shop, stocked with state-of-the-art CNC machines for manufacturing our products. We launched our first product on Kickstarter and it was a wild success. We are now in full production and are excited to add another member to our hardware team.
You should have an extreme attention to detail and be incredibly organized. You should be excited about metrology for our machines and geek out over things like tolerances, testing protocols, and working in partnership with our contract manufacturer. You will understand the manufacturing of the entire machine through the full assembly process from frame to wiring to QC testing. You will measure and test each component of our machine for quality and carefully document performance for each metric. You can also design your own QC “pass” sticker just for fun.
