2D or 3D Machinist
Key Responsibilities:
The Machinist will perform high speed machining to profile and contour aluminum, using 3-axis vertical milling. The ability to work with stainless steel is a plus.
· Must be able to program using CAD CAM software, such as; Master CAM or SurfCam for CNC Mills (programing lathes is a plus).
· Must have familiarity with fanuc controls.
· Must be able to build fixtures and set up machines.
Machinist Skills and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable

· Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
· Programs mills and (lathes are a plus) by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
· Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops; indicating vices; trimming heads.
· Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work-pieces.
· Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
· Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
· Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
