FYI. Note: while they say they want someone with 3-4 years experience, they hired a Laney student a couple of years ago straight out of school and they’re promoting him. So even if you don’t have that work experience, make the case in your cover letter and resume as to why you think you would be a good fit for the job.

WRE/ColorTech is a graphic arts company located in Berkeley, CA. Since 1956, we have grown to the second largest in our field with four facilities in North America. We specialize in gravure cylinder engraving for large format printers and consumer product companies.

Our Berkeley location has an immediate opening for a Machinist level 1 person to operate a Summit lathe to turn straight external copper plated cylinders within .001

We are seeking a motivated person that also has the ability to learn and operate additional cylinder finishing and engraving related equipment.


Hours:

Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate lathe.
Computer skills.

General understanding of CNC type equipment.

Self-starter.

Ability to accurately fill out daily documentation

Experience:
Three to four years’ prior machine shop experience working in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.

 

Salary:

Start, $20.00-$22.00 per hour. (Depending on qualifications)

Vacation pay (3 weeks after first year)

Holiday pay (11 days per year)
