Maintenance Mechanic job description

 


Summery Statement:

  Preventive maintenance and repairs of major/minor manufacturing machinery, related plant equipment, and facilities for the process and manufacturing  of a large food manufacturer. Maintain equipment performance and operation in order to minimize down time. Follow state and federal OSHA safety regulations. Job functions - Inspect for routine preventive maintenance  - 40 % Evaluation and trouble shooting of equipment and failures and determining corrective actions. 10% making repairs in plant or replacement of parts to plant equipment and or sub assemblies. 20% perform various fabrication of tasks. 10% overhaul and repair parts. 10% Work order processing and general clean up after work assignments

Requirements:

 

  • Must possess mechanical skills with strong electrical background.
  • Knowledge of AC-DC motors and associated controls, Single and 2 phase wiring distribution systems, lighting systems, and computer control systems.
  • Ability to install new systems include conduit, control panels wiring and motor controls.
  • Be able to read and understand electrical, mechanical schematics and diagrams.
  • Must have good electrical skills in 120,240 and 480 volts both single and 3 phase.
  • Can trouble shoot wiring, motor controls, censors and photo eyes.
  • Must have good working skills on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with programming PLC's and VFD's .
  • Oven and packaging experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of pumps, gearbox, motors, conveyors, cylinders etc...
  • Able to work in restricted areas, climb ladders and platforms, work at high levals and have the ability to lift heavy components.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with a CMMS
  • Food and beverage experience desired
  • Familiar with GMP's, PPE's and LOTO.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime on occasion and willing to work on swing and grave on occasion.
  • Must be able to work in team environment and have own tools.
  • Bilingual English Spanish a plus.

 

 

Service Technician Diesel Mechanic

This individual will be responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components at high levels of quality. Their work must be completed in a safe, professional and timely manner. Based upon their level of expertise, the service technician may work under direct supervision.


Specific duties include:

·  Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

·  Perform diagnosis and repair.

·  Perform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems and components.

·  Identify and implement solutions for customer service opportunities in the dealership’s area of responsibility

·  Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership’s area of responsibility.

·  Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

·  Conduct self in the presence of customers so as to present a professional image of the Company

·  Perform other duties as requested by the Service Manager and assist other department personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.

·  Participate in any and all appropriate training.

·  Attend all Company functions and meetings.

·  Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

·  Excellent mechanical skills

·  Set of tools

·  Strong computer skills

·  Excellent customer service skills

·  Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment

·  Excellent oral communication and written skills

·  Strong organizational skills

·  Graduation from related diesel technology program (preferred)
