Mark,

Lee Bates, a graduate of the Laney College Machining Technology program has been working out well here at Anamet since we hired him last June.

We’ve trained him to do a number of other lab testing procedures in addition to utilizing his machine shop skills.

We have another technician position that we’re creating here. It’s mostly mechanical-testing focused.  The job

description is attached.  It’s very hands-on, and some machining background would be useful in this position as well

since the tech does have to modify fixturing sometimes to accommodate customer testing needs, but the machining aspect would

be a very small part of the job responsibilities.  Formal machining skills are not absolutely essential for this job.

We have 2 incumbent machinists, and Lee when the queue gets full, so we’re not requiring machining skills.

A hands-on, mechanically inclined person is what we’re looking for.
