We are a high-end design+build studio in SF that specializes in wood and metal fabrication for restaurants, retail spaces, offices and residential interiors in the Bay Area. We are looking for a talented, creative and experienced individual who has a deep knowledge of metal fabrication to grow with our company. We offer competitive pay, a creative work environment, and challenging projects. 

The ideal candidate:
* 10+/- years of metalworking experience
* has a creative background with close attention to detail 
* has worked closely with designers, architects, and project managers
* can read and critique detailed shop drawings
* wants to grow with us and share their knowledge amongst our diverse team
* is precise and detail oriented with the skill to execute 
*can prioritize tasks while managing multiple jobs simultaneously
*positive, focused, energetic and flexible 

Responsibilities:
* knowledge of and ability to machine parts and tools
* proficient at Tig and Mig welding with emphasis on structural soundness and aesthetics 
* understanding of steel, aluminum and brass including their respective finishes
* assist manager with ordering materials, scheduling fabrication, and on site installations
* work alongside bookkeeper and drafter to create pre/post project data 
* help keep metal shop organized, maintained, and stocked
* identify and execute repairs/maintenance of shop equipment
* collaborate with Metal Shop Manager to choose appropriate welds and materials specific to each job
* fabricate tools and jigs as needed to help make projects more efficient
* mastery of metallurgy with acute awareness of behavior while being subjected to heat 
* can develop cut lists and fabricate from detailed shop drawings and layouts
* ability to lift at least 50 lbs
* communicate and articulate ideas through drawing, writing and verbal
* professionalism exercised with team members and clients


Bonus Points
* ability to create shop drawings quickly
* can form tubing and fabricate a bicycle frame


Position Details
* Full-Time Metal Fabricator
* Hourly Rate: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience and skill
* Working Hours: M-F 8-5 with occasional overtime
* Paid holidays and time off
