I typically don’t post jobs that don’t require a skilled trades certificate, but occasionally I find a job that might be of interest for your career development.
General Foundry reached out to me because they’re looking for a part-time driver. There is some flexibility so you might be able to work around your class schedule. While it is a driver position where you’ll be delivering parts, it can give you the chance to learn about the work at a foundry (moldmaking, machining, CNC, wood working) and about possible opportunities at General Foundry itself (they use Solidworks, SurfCAM, and have Haas and Fadal CNC’s).
When you talk with them, please let them know what your long-term interests are so you can make sure this job meets your needs (beyond just the pay).
Thanks,
Mark

Interested in How Things are Made?
I thought if you knew of a student who was interested in the machining, woodworking or foundry field, that would be a bonus as said student would learn about us while we learned about him or her. It is not a requirement. It is a temporary, part time job and most of the prior drivers have worked for 1-2 years. We are flexible and work around their schedules. Most have worked MWF 1 to 5 or so with extra hours when they have time and time off for mid terms, finals or meets. We have had a lot of track and field guys.
