Responsibilities: · Determining root causes of deviations in process, product or equipment - Operating process related equipment such as pumps, compressors, and valves in a safe environmentally responsible manner using process control and process information systems to assess and optimize plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions including process levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates
- Collecting samples and performing field checks, adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data
- Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, costs yields, EH&S (Environmental, Health & Safety), production rates, etc.
Requirements: · Pass pre-employment testing, drug screening and background check · Work in a smoke-free and drug-free work environment · Current, valid US driver’s license · Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others · Be able to lift 50 pounds, lift hoses, bolt flanges, open & close valves up to 6" and operate similar equipment routinely · Be able to push and pull cylinders, hoses, carts, drums, and other equipment · Be able to operate hand tools and equipment up to 30 pounds · Be able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights or in tight or closed-in spaces · Be able to kneel, bend, crawl and crouch frequently · Be able to perform tasks wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc. · Be able to successfully complete required training · Be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills · Be able to perform single variable mathematical calculations · Be able to understand, analyze and resolve technical problems in work area · Be able to troubleshoot and do minor preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment · Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations · Be able to work rotating shifts on an on-going basis (including weekends & holidays) and overtime to cover vacancies due to training, vacation, illness of other team members and scheduled meetings · Willingness and ability to be trained to serve on an Emergency Brigade team to operate fire engines and other emergency response equipment, as well as to assist in firefighting, medical emergencies, vapor mitigation, confined space rescue, building evacuation, staging, escort and other logistical roles as directed by site emergency response personnel · A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications: Chemical or petroleum plant knowledge and experience is preferred, but not required. Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a chemical, manufacturing, industrial or similar environment OR
Associate’s degree (or equivalent credit hours) /4+ years relevant military experience is required.
