Manufacturing – Auto Body Technician 

Manufacturing Technician -  Metal Finishing 

The Manufacturing Technician will join an exceptional cross-functional team of technicians to prepare aluminum auto body parts.  Tesla is not just an automaker, but also a technology and design company with a focus on energy innovation. This position will be located at our growing facility in Fremont, California.

This position will perform functions such the ability to perform safe work procedures as prepare aluminum auto body for paint process.  Sanding, grinding, filing, and drilling of metals.   Maintain records for manufactured products.

Under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Technician will perform routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area. Applies general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to come up with logical answers.

 

Responsibilities

·       Understands and ensures adherence to required safety procedures and processes.

·       Evaluate the process design and tooling improvements – comfortable in suggesting and implementing new ideas that improve quality, reduce cost, support production work environment.

·       Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment and team structure.

·       Use of complex tooling that requires specialized training

·       Physical work including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.

·       Ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process repetitively for an extended period of time

·       Ability to detect abnormalities in the process using visual, touch,  or auditory senses

Requirements

·       High school diploma or equivalent experience

·       Working experience in automotive

·       Metal finishing experience

·       Auto body experience

·       Wearing Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses, vests, shoes, hard hats

·       Possible weekend work and overtime required

Preferred Skills

·       Paintless dent repair experience

·       ICAR Certifications- Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair

·       Experience in production environment
