One more thing to add, Alec stated:

"We are quite flexible on hours and days.” So if you want to explore working part-time while you’re finishing school, you should talk with them about that possibility.

FYI. Just wanted to resend this. Wrightspeed didn’t get any responses from this posting, which is kind of surprising (since to me it looks like a pretty interesting company). If it appeals to you, be sure and contact them.

I’m curious, if you thought this was an interesting company, but didn’t apply, I’d like to know why (not graduating until May or later? Don’t have the skillsets they’re looking for? Want to do mostly machining? Not enough detail? Not close to public transit? Not looking for work at that type of company? Waiting to talk to people in person at the Job Fair? Pay/benefits/other are better at other companies?, etc.)

This will help me understand better what’s going on in hiring by manufacturers.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi all,
Interesting opportunity at a start-up in the electric vehicle (truck) space.

Alec was a former Laney student. Contact him with your resume and cover letter if interested and you have the right skillsets.

Mark

Hours:  8 to 5 (hour for lunch)
Pay: $20 an hour, potential increase DOE
Tasks: Perform light machining ( Aluminum and Stainless), keep the shop and machines clean, be able or willing to learn to weld, perform technician (wrench turning) functions on heavy duty trucks under supervision.
Start date:  early November
Number of positions:  Two, with the potential for expansion

The base is only ten minutes from Laney, so I could swing by if that makes things easier.
