Hi all,
I mentioned it recently, but it’s important enough to mention again - if you’re interested in working industrial maintenance, engineering, or as a manufacturing/electronic technician you should take a class on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s). PLC’s are the devices that control most industrial equipment and having a knowledge of them will open up job opportunities for you.
Colleges that list a PLC class (and the class #) are listed below. Some of these classes are offered in the Spring, some in the Fall. Check the college listings for details.
- Chabot (ESYS 57B)
- DVC (ELECT 271)
- Laney (EET 229)
- Los Medanos (ETEC 30)
- San Jose CC (FMT 122)
- San Mateo (ELEC 422)
- Santa Rosa (ELEC 153)
- I believe this is a list of all colleges in the Bay Area offering a class. If a college you’re interested in isn’t listed, check it out by going to: http://bayareamanufacturingcareers.com/programs-by-college.html. Then look at their different certificate programs to see if they offer a PLC class. If I missed a college, let me know.
Good luck.
Mark
P.S. Please FORWARD on to others that might be interested.
