If you are receiving this message, we have identified you as a teacher, counselor, or Community Based Organization (CBO) staff who works with High school students or youth. If this is the case, we want to invite you to register at our annual Open House event at Laney College and receive a stipend for your participation. There are a limited number of stipends, so please register soon!

STIPENDS:

This year, we will offer two stipend opportunities to HS teachers, counselors, and CBO staff that attend. We will offer:

$25 visa gift card for attending or
$100 visa gift card + Raffle entry to win an Apple iPad for attending and recruiting four students to attend the event.
- If you plan to recruit students, you will use a group registration identifyer. A minimum of four students must register under your group name and attend the event. (see instructions below)

To receive a stipend, you must present valid ID and proof of employment by HS or CBO.

STEP-BY-STEP GROUP REGISTRATION

Note: If you register as an individual, you don't have to create a group.

Step 1) Click "Register"

Step 2) Select group member

Step 3) Create a group.

This can be whatever you want it to be. Once the group is created, you can register the members of your group yourself, or share the group name and individuals can register themselves.

*We will verify on the day of the event whether or not your group members attend.

4) Register yourself as a HS Teacher, Counselor, CBO staff.

Q&A

Q: How will I know which of my students have registered?
A: When you create a group, you have access to view the list of manes and ticket type for anyone who has registered into your group. Also, you will have the option to share a link, send email invites, and register students yourself. We will also be able to see this on the back end.

Q: Can I register students myself?
A: Yes. You can register your students or they can register themselves. As long as they know the group name, they can register at any time.

Q: Is this a family friendly event?
A: Yes. We will have a few Carnival themed activities for all ages. We want this event to be fun for the whole family!

Q: Will lunch be provided?
A: This year we will not provide lunch however, we will provide light snacks. There will be a food truck on-site for the duration of the event for anyone interested in purchasing their meal.

Q: What time is the raffle?
A: Raffles will be drawn at 12:00 PM.

Q: Can the gift card be mailed to me?
A: We will not mail out any gift cards. Gift cards will be distributed at 12:30 PM. NOTE: Must check-in before 10:30 AM to receive a stipend. Students can check-in at any time before 11:00 AM and will still count towards stipend. Check-in will conclude at 11:00 AM.

Q: Is there free parking?
A: Yes, parking is complimentary. Our parking lot is easily accessible and located at the corner of Fallon st and 7th Street. Also, Laney College is right across from the Lake Merritt BART Station and close to many AC transit routes.
