Hi,
The Open House at Laney is a great opportunity for people to learn about hands-on, career education programs Laney has to offer. You get to see over a dozen different Career Education programs (machining, welding, electrical/electronics, carpentry, wood tech, HVAC, photography, biotech, etc.). Music, food, and live demonstrations!

Please let your friends, employees (and their kids), students, parents, clients, teachers, etc. know about it. Please forward this on.

Thanks,
Mark

P.S. I know a number of you are not that close to Oakland. If you want to find one in your area, reach out to your local community college and ask them when their Open House is. If they don’t have one, suggest that they should!

Everyone. The event may be most interesting for high school students, teachers, counselors, parents, and non-profit staff who work with high school age youth/young adults, but the event is open to anyone who is interested in CTE. We encourage everyone to bring students if they can.

2). DESCRIPTION

• This is the largest and most comprehensive  CTE event of the year. Over 15 of our CTE programs from the building trades to the arts, sciences, culinary and cosmetology programs and more will be participating. You can see a list of our CTE programs at  http://laney.edu/cte/

 • Programs will have their classrooms and labs open to the public, running tours, demos, and activities. We will provide you with a schedule to explore and tour at your own pace if you'd like.

 • There will be college application and financial aid information

 • There will be an industry panel about jobs and opportunities

 • Raffles

 • Free lunch while supplies last

 • Snacks from the culinary arts department
