Dear Skilled Trades, Engineering, & Manufacturing colleagues,
The holidays are coming up, so if you’re interested in giving a “gift” 🎁 to local teachers, read on!
The Bay Area Community Colleges and AMBayArea are working to help K-12 students learn more about the skilled trades, engineering, and manufacturing careers. If you'd be interested in helping out, we wanted to let you know about our Volunteer Match project. It’s a way for teachers to input a request for volunteers, and for you as a volunteer to then browse and connect with them. We have teacher requests from throughout the Bay Area.
If you work in the skilled trades, manufacturing or engineering, and would like to help out, it’s simple.
2) After you sign-up, you'll get a link to our Volunteer Match website (see picture below). You'll then have access to browse and see teacher requests - and then reach out to those you're interested in.
Teachers have needs for:
1) Classroom speakers (up to 1 hour) - in-person or online
2) Judges for competitions
3) Industry advisory boards
4) Visits to local companies
5) Etc.
Thanks for your time and please let us know if you have any questions. And please feel free to forward this on to others.
Regards,
Matt Trocker
