Hi,
Are you ready to explore a new career? Have you ever considered manufacturing? There are thousands of jobs available in the Bay Area, almost all with benefits, with entry-level wages from $20 - $25 / hour. And with further education and experience, wages can go up to $35 - $50 / hour and higher. It can be an interesting and challenging career, with Bay Area companies producing spacecraft, autonomous cars, clean-tech technologies, food & beverages, medical products, and a whole lot more!
The Association of Manufacturers Bay Area, East Bay Workforce Development Boards, and the Bay Area Community Colleges are piloting a new ONLINE course that will give you an introduction to manufacturing. This free, 5-week class meets 2 days a week (Monday & Wednesday), 7pm - 8:30pm from April 25 - May 25.
GOALS
By the end of this 5-week course, our goal is to:
1) Help you decide if manufacturing is a good match for you
2) Give you some basic skillsets (print reading, measuring, math, safety) and vocabulary to get started and succeed in an entry-level job in manufacturing
3) Cover the educational opportunities in the community colleges that can help you move into more advanced manufacturing careers (machining, welding, quality control, electronics tech, CAD, etc.)
