Dear Instructors (interested in CAD),
I worked with Autodesk (Di Jin) to organize this 8-week, Zoom webinar series covering Fusion 360 topics such as Intro to CAD & CAM, Generative Design using AI, 3d printing, PCB Design and more.
The sessions will be recorded so you can watch those you might miss.
Be sure and sign up below and please forward on to anyone in CA (or the US) that might be interested.
Regards,
Mark

Weekly Topics and Description:
Week 1: Intro to Fusion CAD Workshop:
Join us for an introductory workshop on Fusion 360 CAD (Computer-Aided Design). In this session, you will learn the basics of Fusion 360's CAD capabilities, which will enable you to create 3D models of your designs. We will cover the essential tools and
techniques for sketching, creating parametric models, and designing with precision. By the end of this workshop, you will be equipped with the skills to bring your ideas to life in a digital 3D environment using Fusion 360's powerful CAD tools.
Week 2: Fusion 360 Assemblies Workshop:
Assemblies are a fundamental part of any complex design. Join us for a workshop focused on Fusion 360 Assemblies, where you will learn how to create and manage assemblies of multiple components. We will cover the differences between top-down and bottom up assemblies,
techniques for importing components into a design, constraining and positioning components, creating motion links and joints, and analyzing interference and clearance. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to confidently create and work with assemblies,
allowing you to design and simulate the interactions between multiple components within your projects.
Week 3: Fusion 360 Documentation Workshop:
Accurate and clear documentation is crucial for effective communication during the design and manufacturing process. Join us for a workshop focused on Fusion 360's documentation features. You will learn how to create detailed technical drawings, add dimensions
and annotations, generate bills of materials (BOMs), and customize title blocks. This workshop will equip you with the skills to produce professional documentation that communicates your design intent effectively.
Week 4: Intro to Simulation Workshop:
Simulation is a powerful tool that can help you validate and optimize your designs before physical prototyping. In this workshop, we will introduce you to Fusion 360's simulation capabilities. You’ll learn how to apply loads and restraints, define materials,
and run simulations to analyze the structural performance of your designs. We’ll talk about the different types of analyses, such as static stress, modal frequencies, and thermal studies. By attending this workshop, you will gain insights into how simulations
can enhance your design process and lead to more efficient and reliable products.
Week 5: Intro to Generative Design Workshop:
In this workshop, we will explore the fascinating world of generative design using Fusion 360. Generative design is an innovative approach that allows you to define design goals and constraints, and then let the software generate multiple design options based
on those inputs. We will cover the fundamental concepts of generative design, including setting up design studies, defining constraints, and analyzing the generated results. You will learn how to leverage generative design to optimize your designs for weight
reduction, material usage, and structural performance. Join us to unlock the power of generative design and revolutionize your design process.
Week 6: Intro to Fusion CAM Workshop:
Are you ready to take your designs from the virtual world to reality? Join us for an introductory workshop on Fusion 360 CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). In this workshop, we will explore the tools and workflows within Fusion 360 that enable you to generate
toolpaths and G-code for CNC machining operations. You will learn how to set up stock, define cutting tools, create toolpaths, and simulate machining operations to ensure accuracy and avoid costly mistakes. This workshop will equip you with the knowledge to
bring your designs to life through machining processes.
Week 7: Intro to 3D Printing Workshop:
Are you interested in turning your digital designs into physical objects using 3D printing? This workshop is your gateway to the world of additive manufacturing. We will cover the basics of 3D printing functionality in Fusion 360, including how to take your
CAD directly into your preferred 3D printer environment, manage settings, organize and nest components to fit your printer work envelop, and create the G-Code necessary to drive your machine.
Week 8: Fusion 360 PCB Design Fundamentals Workshop:
In this workshop, we will explore the essential aspects of designing printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Fusion 360, a powerful and user-friendly PCB design software. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced designer,
this workshop aims to equip you with the fundamental knowledge needed to create efficient and reliable PCB layouts and apply your electronics to your mechanical designs. Throughout the workshop, we will cover topics such as schematic capture, component placement,
routing techniques, design for manufacturability, and much more. By the end of the workshop, you will have a solid understanding of the key principles and techniques required to design professional-grade PCBs using Fusion, enabling you to bring your electronic
projects to life with confidence. Get ready to dive into the world of Fusion PCB design and unlock your potential as a skilled PCB designer!
